The Learning Center in Qatar; a private nonprofit international educational community was founded in 1996 by Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. Qatar Foundation was founded in 1995 by His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir and Head of State of Qatar, and Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned.
We at The Learning Center School believe that students can and will reach their greatest potential when provided with an appropriate educational environment. Prior to the establishment of this school, students from Qatar with academic problems often repeated the same grade once, twice and sometimes three times until finally they stopped attending school.
TLCS provides instructional services, diagnostic consultation, and therapeutic services to students with academic problems. Individualized instruction, small classes and a highly specialized curriculum emphasizing cognitive, social and academic development are the major focuses of the school. TLCS provides a supportive learning environment, enabling students to ensure their place in the larger world community as self-confident and self-reliant adults.
Each staff member at TLCS is selected on the basis of competence, compassion and dedication. The Learning Center School is committed to the goal of positive and effective instruction. Parents, teachers, students, administrators and support staff equally assume responsibility toward achieving this goal.
Outreach programs such as professional training, lectures, parent information sessions and community awareness help to promote public understanding and knowledge of current research in child development, teaching and parenting techniques.
