The Learning Center School (TLCS) honored its fourth graduating class in a ceremony held at Carnegie Mellon University Qatar on 4 June.

"Celebrate this achievement and mark it as one of the many milestones that you will achieve in the years to come," said Ms. Elizabeth Naert, Director of The Learning Center, commending the graduates on this turning point in their lives.

Professor Hissa Sadiq, Dean of the College of Education at Qatar University was the keynote speaker for the evening. She advised the graduates to contemplate the importance of planning for their futures. "Success is not a lesson teachers will present, it is not a recipe you can buy to write successful stories. We need to build a good plan, to put clear objectives, to be ambitious and perseverant, to reflect and learn."

Omar Abugharbieh was awarded the Principal's Award for academic excellence and leadership. In his speech to his fellow classmates, he reflected on his years at TLCS. "I have developed many skills during these years, I learned how to work cooperatively and independently. I will always remember the school and the people here."

This year's graduates plan to continue their studies at colleges and universities in Qatar, the United Kingdom and the United States. TLCS is a Qatar Foundation initiative to provide an equal opportunity for all students to excel in their educational endeavors.
