STUDENT / CLINICAL SERVICES

Psychoeducational Evaluations

School Psychologist:

The role of the School Psychologist at The Learning Center School is to evaluate students who are seeking admission to TLCS. S/he collaborates with teachers, parents and administrators to develop and implement an Alternative Educational Plan (AEP) for each student attending TLCS. Additionally, s/he provides consultation for teachers seeking to gain a greater understanding of individual student psychological needs. The psychologist also conducts re-evaluations as needed and as deemed warranted by consensus of the Child Study Team.

The psychologist coordinates and directs clinical services in TLCS and is directly responsible for the supervision of the clinical staff; speech/language therapists, counselors, and health educator/school nurse.

The psychologist develops and maintains professional relationships with individuals and programs in the community, assisting parents in finding appropriate outside resources for their child as needed. The psychologist may also provide training and workshops for students, staff, parents and community agencies.
