Role and Responsibility

Parent participation and involvement is exceptionally important at The Learning Center School. When students face academic challenges, it is the support of the parents and their cooperation with the school that makes a difference. TLCS expects parents to attend meetings called by the teachers or administration. We also encourage the involvement in school activities such as PTA.

Parent Involvement and Support

In order for The Learning Center School to operate effectively; staff, parents and students each play a vital role in creating an environment supportive of learning. Effective communication and high expectations for appropriate behavior are essential. Students' behavior must be motivated by a sense of their own values and pride. If the school climate encourages personal growth and development, students will be more likely to take responsibility for what they say and do.

There is an attempt at TLC to keep rules to a minimum. Emphasis is placed on rewarding positive behavior. However, it is also recognized that structure and boundaries are essential for healthy growth and development. We all function better and more effectively when we know and recognize the boundaries in which we are expected to work. This is even more essential for young people.
