About The Learning Center

Vision:

The Learning Center was the creation of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir and Head of State of Qatar, and Her Highness Sheikha Mozah as a part of their overall vision for the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. Dr. Sheikha Al-Miznad and Dr. Ghadah Fakieh provided the inspiration and guidance for the Center in its early days.

It was realized that each child is unique and that each brings with him/her both strengths and weaknesses. TLC hoped to nurture the strengths and remediate the weaknesses. The vision is still the same.

TLCS seeks to serve students who have average to above-average learning potential and who can benefit from the small, individualized classes facilitated by skilled educational specialists.

A primary component of this success is the dedication and positive challenge presented by the teachers. However, an even bigger part of this is the willingness and desire of the student to learn. It is the student's desire to succeed that makes the difference.

Each member of the school family plays a vital role in creating an environment that supports and fosters individual student responsibility. Student behavior is motivated by the examples we set and thereby develops in the student a sense of values and pride in one's self. As the school climate encourages personal growth and development, students will take greater responsibility for their own actions. TLCS teachers and staff share this responsibility with the families of our students.

Mission:

The Learning Center School is an educational team dedicated to working with students who have average to above-average learning potential and who are facing academic challenges. We believe that when students are provided with the appropriate educational environment and a supportive home environment, they can and will reach their fullest learning potential.

We work to develop and implement the latest in effective educational research that assists students to learn. We seek to provide services to the community through educational outreach. We emphasize professional development and believe in the process of continuing growth through education and research.
