Evaluation of Students

Assessment is much more than taking pencil and paper tests. At the Learning Center School, each student is assessed in the context of our Mission Statement that emphasizes the whole child. Teacher observation, curriculum-based assessment, authentic assessment (such as through motor skills in gym or through dramatic, artistic presentations), self-evaluation and peer feedback join the more traditional testing forms of written tests, quizzes and projects to create a well-rounded repertoire of assessment. Standardized tests constitute only one component in the overall evaluation of our students.
